The Olde Tavern candle will transport you to a dimly lit, centuries-old tavern with wooden beams overhead and well worn leather chairs all around. The air is thick with the comforting aroma of bread pudding and oatmeal stout which mingles with the rich, peppery bite of freshly ground cardamom. The tavern’s wooden walls, soaked in the whispers of countless stories, exude a soft, smoky presence, grounding the scent with a rustic elegance. This fragrance is a time capsule—an intimate evening of laughter, aged spirits, and the simple joys of fireside gatherings. It’s the embrace of an old friend, the taste of spiced ale, and the feeling of being utterly at home in a place that has stood the test of time.
Scent Experience: The Olde Tavern is not your typical spring scent, at all. This scent falls into the gourmand family, evoking a warm, comforting, and edible aroma profile. Here’s a breakdown of its character:
Top Note (Oatmeal) – The initial impression is soft, nutty, and slightly sweet, reminiscent of warm, freshly cooked oats. It gives a cozy and familiar start.
Middle Notes (Creamy, Buttery, Buttermilk) – These add a rich, decadent aroma, creating a smooth and velvety feel. the buttery and malty elements give the hint of oatmeal stout with some ale peeking through! Some cardamom adds to the dessert-like and warm scent of bread pudding.
Base Note (Cocoa) – The bottom notes reveal a subtle, chocolatey warmth that adds a hint of sweetness and depth, rounding out the composition with a touch of gourmand richness.
It is important to note that this fragrance is infused with cedarwood oil giving it a woody touch, which represents the wood beams in an olde tavern.
Our Candles are made with 100% pure soy wax infused with essential oils and phthalate free fragrance. They contain no animal bi products, toxins or additives. Each candle is hand poured into an amber recyclable jar with a metal twist top lid. This is format is perfect for counters, desks, dressers, bedside tables and basically anywhere in your home. The simple design matches most décor and makes a wonderful gift idea as well! Our soy wax is sourced from soybeans grown in the United States. Our candle wicks are made of cotton and contain no lead, zinc or other metals. No ingredients used in this candle are tested on animals.

The first time you light your candle, allow the wax to pool all the way to the outer edges of the glass jar. Allowing a full melt pool guarantees an even burn (no tunneling) and maximum fragrance throw. To ensure optimum scent and a cleaner burn please keep the wick trimmed in between burns.
Always burn candles on a level, heat-resistant stable surface and keep your candle away from any drafts or other heat sources to avoid your candle burning too quick or unevenly.

Want your candle to last longer with minimal soot? Trim the wick to 1/4” before every single burn, and keep it lit for 3-4 hours at a time.

Soy Candles:
• Due to the nature of our 100% pure soy wax, may notice a slight frosting on the top of your candles. This is completely normal and a sign that the candles are, in fact, made with soy wax!
• Soy wax is non-toxic and environmentally friendly.
• Soy wax is biodegradable and can be cleaned up with soap and water if spilled.
• Soy candles have a more natural, lighter scent compared to paraffin wax candles. They burn cleaner and do not release potentially harmful petrochemicals into the air while burning, and are great for those who are sensitive to strong headache causing candles in the stores today.

Because all of these items are handmade, they may have minor imperfections at times such as: slightly off-centered label or wick, tiny markings on the outside of the jar, textured wax on top (typical with natural waxes), etc. None of these impact the quality of the candle.
